Kids

I have recently made a rule that my kids get one hour of TV time per day. This came about because they'd watch cartoons for 3 hours and when it was time to turn them off they'd throw these big fits. Like they had just started watching TV 5 seconds before I told them to turn it off!
So!! I got disgusted with the attitudes they were showing and made a 'One Hour' rule. This one hour can be cartoons OR playstation time. Not both.

So, this morning Samantha had her TV time (well more than an hour I might add) and Madeline chose to use the playstation this afternoon for her TV time and now that Maxwell is home he is using his one hour to use the playstation. Samantha is very upset by the fact that she can't play too. She's sitting in the hall crying and talking to herself. Here is part of what she said- so funny!!.......

"I'm so sad..... Mommy say I can't play. Mommy say I can't play never again!!! I too sad!!!'

LOL And all this while crying. She is so funny.
No idea who she's talking to or if she expects that this narrative will make me feel bad and I'll change my mind. Who knows. But, she's very entertaining!! LOL

The Friday Five

1. What is your most prized material possession?

I don't know if I have one. I would have to say my kids and my husband. Everything else is replaceable, they are not.

2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest?

My baby book. I guess I've owned it for over 10 years but my mom kept it for me before that. But it was always mine.

3. Are you a packrat?

No not really. I'm just really lazy about throwing junk away. I let things pile up for a few months and then go through it and throw 90% of it away.

4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum?

I am NOT a neat person. I am what you'd call a total slob. I wish I was a 'neat freak' but it's just not my nature. Maybe as I get older I'll change my ways but I don't count on that happening. LOL To answer the second part of that question, I don't think clutter is necessary at all. A house can be very neat and clean and not feel/look like a museum. To me a home that has the appearance of a museum is one that is pristine and has so much expensive furniture/decorations that you are afraid of touching any of it. I personally don't know anyone who lives like that. I'd feel sorry for anyone that does live like that. Who wants to live in such a sterile environment??

5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there?

Nope, I can't afford to decorate that way. I have a quasi-theme in my kitchen/dining area- fruit. I LOVE fruit decorated things. Love them!!!! But other than that, no other room is themed like I want it to be. I wish I could do more, I really do. My home is just a conglomeration of junk and kick-knacks. Sad......

I'm tired

Today I am so exhausted. I got the kids off to school and then got breakfast for Samantha and then crawled back into bed. She finished her food and then came up and played for a while then crawled in bed w/ me to watch tv. I slept off and on for a few hours until I had to get up and go get my daughter from the bus stop. Now I just want to go back to sleep so badly. I can't stop yawning and I just feel totally drained of energy.
I have to work tonight too. BAAHH! I don't want to go anywhere today. It's just one of those days that I just want to hibernate. Can't wait for this part of pregnancy to end. I hope it's not something that carries on through the entire thing. If so it's going to be an incredibly looooong 8 months!!

More snow

I don't think this winter will ever end. We just got about a foot and a half of snow in the last 24 hrs. I am so sick of winter. Everyone here is sick to death of the snow (except those crazy skiers) and we are all anxiously wating for spring. We have so much snow that it will be June before it all melts. There is really that much!! The weather is supposed to warm up in the next few days so maybe some of it will melt this week. I sure hope so.

This-or-That Tuesday

1. Black or white?
Black

2. Plaid or stripes?
Probably plaid, but it depends on the colors and pattern. Although I do like some stripes so I guess it's really both for me.

3. Paperback or hardcover books?
Either

4. Color or B&W printer?
Color for sure!

5. Golden oldies or the newest tunes?
Newer tunes. I like the oldies though.

6. Ice cream: in a cone or a dish?
Both. I love a cone though

7. Bath or shower?
Shower

8. Are you outgoing or shy?
Outgoing

9. Answer the phone when it rings, or screen calls?
I look to see who's calling first. Most times I answer but now and then I won't pick up if I don't feel like talking to who's calling.

10. VCR or TiVO?
VCR but we don't use it to record anything. Just watch videos on it.
